SUDAN GOLD intercepted a 47 kg gold shipment from Sudan en route to Dubai after discovering tampered container seals repackaging and re-documenting the consignment within 24 hours to avoid customs rejection.

Challenge

The refinery required LBDuring a routine transit check in Port Sudan, our logistics partner found broken security tags on a sealed container bound for Dubai. UAE customs would reject any shipment with compromised integrity, risking buyer penalties and reputational damage.MA-aligned chain-of-custody: proof of origin from licensed mine, independent assay linked to the physical batch, and full export documentation. This is standard for major buyers but many suppliers lack on-ground verification capability.

Solution

We halted the shipment, re-verified weight and assay at our Khartoum facility, applied new tamper-evident seals under dual custody, and updated all documentation with fresh GPS-tagged photos. The revised consignment cleared Dubai Customs on arrival without delay.
