SUDAN GOLD delivered a 35 kg gold shipment from Juba to Guangzhou despite flooded roads and airport closures rerouting via river barge and air cargo to meet the buyer’s 14-day window.

Challenge

Heavy rains in Eastern Equatoria washed out the Juba–Nimule road, closing the primary land route to Uganda for 10 days. The Guangzhou refinery required delivery within 14 days; standard logistics partners halted operations.

Solution

We coordinated with a licensed river transport operator to move sealed containers by barge to Bor, then chartered a secure air cargo flight to Entebbe. From there, the shipment transferred to a pre-cleared container bound for Guangzhou. Delivery occurred on day 13.
